Polar Skate Co. is a Malmö Sweden based Skateboard company. The brand was founded by Pontus Alv in 2011.
Pontus, himself a professional rider for brands such as Carhartt and , took what is important to him and created the skateboarding company to express that feeling. Gritty, familiar, raw and in it's roots Scandinavian and European they present , and .
The Polar headquarter in Malmö hosts not only the business offices, but the storage and accommodations to house team riders and guests. It is a family thing. Besides the obvious analog of a closely working skateboarding team, the Alv Family contributes to the brand in multiple ways e.g. photography, illustrations and art work. All carrying the iconic melancholy and ironic way of looking at the business and society.
The actual Team, although the company hailing from europe, is an international. With Pontus himself, Hjalte Halberg, David Stenström and Oskar Rozenberg from Sweden, Kevin Rodrigues and Paul Grund from Paris France, Dane Brady from Portland USA and Aaron Herrington from New York and former Zero heavyweight and newly added to the roster: Nick Boserio from Melbourne Australia. We can only fantasize about what lies in the future of such productive .
Pontu's goal was to create a brand that had a meaningful impact on the skateboarding industry. To matter to people.
